Job Description Job Description Senior Accountant – Commercial Real Estate The Opportunity: Join a premier commercial real estate firm in New Jersey with a Class A property portfolio and a reputation for excellence. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of both property-level and corporate accounting responsibilities. In this role, you’ll be a key financial resource, supporting multiple properties, partnering with leadership, and driving accuracy and insight in our reporting. What You’ll Do: Property & Corporate Accounting Manage general ledger accounting for multiple properties Prepare monthly financial reporting packages Perform monthly billing, apply cash receipts, and follow up on outstanding balances Review expenses for adequate support and correct G/L classification Financial Analysis & Reporting Review monthly budget-to-actual variance reports and prepare variance explanations Present findings and recommendations to leadership Prepare detailed quarterly and year-end financial statements with supporting workpapers Prepare monthly cash flow projections for joint venture partners Audit, Compliance & Forecasting Serve as the primary contact for external auditors Prepare annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts Reconcile bank accounts, AP, and AR subledgers Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc reports and analyses What We’re Looking For: Must-Haves ~5+ years of public or private accounting experience ~ Strong Microsoft Excel skills ~ Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail ~ Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills ~ Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment Preferred Real estate industry experience (Class A commercial preferred) Experience with MRI and Yardi software CPA designation or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Why Join Us: At our firm, you’ll work alongside a collaborative, high-performing team in a dynamic industry.
