Job Description
The Dental Assistant supports dentists during dental procedures, ensures patient comfort, prepares and sterilizes instruments, and maintains a clean and organized clinical environment. They play a vital role in patient care and the efficiency of dental operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures (e.g., fillings, crowns, extractions)
Prepare patients for dental procedures and ensure their comfort
Hand instruments and materials to dentists and keep the area clean and dry
Take dental X-rays (as permitted by law)
Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatory areas
Maintain patient records and update dental charts
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and dental procedures
Schedule appointments and manage inventory of supplies
Take impressions of patients' teeth for diagnostic casts or temporary crowns
Take scans with CEREC or ITERO
Ensure compliance with all infection control and OSHA regulations
Use camera for taking patient photos
Clean operatories
