Job Description

We are seeking a QC Microbiologist with a strong background in GMP pharmaceutical or biotech environments , specifically with hands-on environmental monitoring (EM) experience. This is a non-R&D role focused on cleanroom compliance , microbiological testing , and GMP documentation .

This role will be with our client who has a global footprint in both R&D and manufacturing within the biopharma industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine environmental monitoring (EM) in cleanrooms (air, surface, and personnel sampling)
• Collect, incubate, and document viable and non-viable particle samples
• Conduct testing on water systems (WFI, RO, and purified water) and compressed gases
• Execute microbiological assays: endotoxin, bioburden, gram stain, microbial limits , and growth promotion
• Coordinate microbial identification testing with internal/external labs
• Operate and maintain autoclaves ; support general lab upkeep
• Record data in Excel and maintain compliance-ready documentation
• Assist in lab audit preparation for internal and external inspections
• Travel locally between Piscataway and South Plainfield sites (~1x per week after training)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a closely related scientific field
• 3–5 years of experience in a GMP pharmaceutical/biotech environment
• Proven background in QC Microbiology or EM (Not R&D or Scientist roles)
• Strong understanding of GMP/GLP regulations and aseptic techniques
