Job Title: Laboratory Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to fill a laboratory management position. This role requires demonstrated supervisory capabilities, combining expertise in people management, planning, coaching, mentoring, and budgeting. The successful candidate will be accountable for leading a team, providing direction and support to team members, and collaborating closely with Technical Management, Business, Sales, and Marketing to achieve both short- and long-term business goals.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise QC and technical service laboratory employees.
• Ensure Quality Control (QC) and technical service efforts meet internal and external requirements, including customer expectations and legal compliance.
• Manage rotating shifts to maintain production support.
• Guide Sales and Marketing in technology and applications.
• Supervise lab employees, maintain work schedules, approve timecards, and provide necessary training.
• Counsel employees and document performance with semi-annual reviews.
• Ensure all lab practices adhere to Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Troubleshoot analytical methods to ensure accuracy and reduce variability.
• Develop and analyze repeatability data and KPI’s for manufacturing scorecards.
• Establish and maintain quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls.
• Work with supply to schedule and control inspection activities for raw materials and products.
• Prepare annual budget for direct costs, manpower, and expenditures, ensuring lab operations within budget.
• Undertake root cause analysis to address quality issues and provide corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related
• 2-3 years of supervisor or managerial experience in the chemical industry.

This is a Permanent position based out of Bridgeview, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
