Responsibilities On-Site Duties: Site clean-up behind subcontractors to prepare the area for the next subcontractor. For example, once flooring contractors finish, clean-up workers prepare the property for painters, cabinetry workers, or other subcontractors. Clean-up includes properly disposing of debris and trash. The clean-up worker or supervisor may walk through the site with the contractor to understand exact expectations and any special clean-up instructions. The supervisor or the worker (if independent) often follows up with the contractor to confirm the clean-up met expectations. Post-Construction Cleaning: Clean the actual home, office, or structure so it is ready for new occupants. Clean by wiping down ceiling fixtures, fans, lights, mechanical registers, walls, cabinets, windows, sills, mirrors, baseboards, counters, appliances, and other fixtures. Sweep and mop floors and outdoor areas. Use products suited for the material being cleaned; avoid harsh chemicals on delicate materials such as granite, marble, or quartz.
