Description:
Candidates must have experience in trauma, ortho, and spine procedures.
OR-specific skill sets are required for this role.
Candidates will be required to take calls and work on weekends.
The operating room consists of 19 operating rooms with a total staff of 63, including RNs, techs, and surgeons.
Staffing includes a Director, Charge RN, Open Heart, surgeons, anesthesiologists, CNAs, and LPNs.
Patient ratios will vary based on volume, typically ranging from 1:1 to 3:1.
Equipment used includes x-rays, preoperative instruments, anesthesiology tools, lab equipment, and electrocardiography devices.
The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech.
Candidates should have ACLS and BLS certifications.
Preferred qualifications include PALS and CNOR certification.
The RN is responsible for the observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for all patients.
Typical procedures performed include joint replacements, ENT, ortho, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate reliability, proficiency in charting, critical thinking skills, and excellent bedside manner.
Dress code requires ceil blue scrubs, which must be supplied by the candidates.
The department has received recognition for achievements, including awards for exceptional service.
A new state-of-the-art computed tomography scanner has been added to the department.
The unit is certified as a comprehensive stroke center and has received the American Heart Gold Plus Achievement Award.
