Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PACU Nurse to join our high-performing team. As a PACU Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. You will work in a dynamic environment that emphasizes clinical excellence and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.


• Perform ventilator monitoring and provide support to patients with advanced care needs.


• Collaborate closely with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


• Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed.


• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding recovery processes.

Unit Specifics:

• Number of Beds: 40


• Patient Ratios: 1:2


• Surgical Scrub Color: Surgical green or navy


• Standard PACU Equipment and Cerner documentation system in use.


• Unit staffing includes Hospital Unit Coordinators (HUC) and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available.

Qualifications:

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.


• Preferred experience in trauma and pediatrics.


• Familiarity with NIH Stroke Scale.


• Ability to float within peri-anesthesia units (Endoscopy/PreOp/Phase II).


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• 6-week scheduling with availability for 3 call shifts within the schedule.


• Advanced skills in patient care required, particularly in ventilator maintenance.
