Join a dynamic and rapidly growing real estate development company known for its innovative approach to student housing, multifamily, and hospitality projects across the U.S. We are seeking a confident and design-driven Architect to lead the critique and enhancement of exterior architectural elements, including building massing, materiality, signage, and glazing.
This is a unique opportunity for an architect with 7-10 years of experience—ideally from a boutique or hospitality-focused firm—who is eager to transition into a role that blends design leadership with project ownership. If you have a strong technical skillset, a keen eye for detail, and the charisma to confidently manage and influence third-party architects, apply now to help shape distinctive public realms that elevate our developments.
What you’ll be doing
· Own and lead the design critique and management of all public realm elements across multifamily, student housing, and hospitality projects
· Collaborate closely with the Architect of Record (AOR) to review and enhance architectural concepts, focusing on massing, materiality, glazing, signage, and exterior envelope details
· Provide confident, constructive feedback to ensure design excellence and alignment with the company’s distinctive aesthetic vision
· Manage relationships with external architecture firms and consultants, acting as the internal design advocate and quality controller
· Oversee the implementation of public realm design elements from concept through construction, including site visits for milestone reviews and punch lists
· Contribute proactively to the broader design team, fostering a collaborative, high-energy culture that values creativity and innovation
· Support cross-disciplinary coordination with landscape, interior design, and development teams to ensure cohesive project delivery
Who you are
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
· 7 to 10 years of professional experience, preferably in boutique architecture firms with a focus on hospitality, multifamily, or mixed-use developments
· Strong design sensibility with the ability to critique and elevate architectural concepts, materiality, massing, glazing, and exterior signage
· Experience managing and collaborating with Architect of Record (AOR) teams, providing clear, constructive feedback to influence design quality and implementation
· Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar tools
· Solid understanding of building envelope systems, exterior materials, and public realm design elements
· Confident communicator with the ability to present and defend design decisions to internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders
· Charismatic and assertive personality capable of leading design critiques and fostering collaborative relationships
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, open office environment with a high-energy, collaborative culture
· Willingness to be based in Austin, TX, with occasional travel to project sites for milestone reviews and punch walks
· Licensed architect preferred but not required; strong technical skills and design leadership are essential
· Commitment to cultural fit: collaborative, energetic, and team-oriented mindset aligned with a “work hard, play hard” ethos
What’s on offer
· Play a pivotal role in shaping the exterior envelope and public realm of high-profile, large-scale development projects
· Collaborate closely with a dynamic, high-energy team that values creativity, confidence, and cultural fit
· Receive competitive compensation complemented by unique team share incentives that provide direct financial rewards from project successes
· Work in a vibrant, open office environment in Austin with strong emphasis on in-person collaboration and real-time creative exchange
· Gain exposure to diverse project types including student housing, multifamily, hospitality, and commercial spaces across multiple U.S. markets
· Opportunity for professional growth by influencing design at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and branding within a rapidly expanding development company
