Job Description

STOA Architects is growing. We are looking for a strong proposal writer to add to our team ( full-time or part-time ). You will be responsible for writing high quality proposals responsive to RFPs & RFQs for A&E federal government, local government, and private projects. Specifically, the job includes the following:

1. Review proposals (RFPs and RFQs) and determine requirements.

2. Determine strategies and schedule to best meet requirements.

3. Generate responsive content that meets or exceeds requirements.

4. Work with consultants and technical staff to gather detailed project information and content.

5. Generate charts and graphs.

6. Develop, write, edit, and proofread project descriptions, staff resumes, narratives, and marketing materials.

7. Carefully proofread proposal materials and provide quality control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.

8. Print, bind, and mail proposals when required.

9. Maintain the overall quality of proposals by maintaining and revising proposal templates and project database.

10. Support other marketing activities as needed.

Qualifications include:

1. Have 3 - 5 years of proposal writing experience, preferably with A&E federal proposals.
2. Not required, but prefer - Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Business, or other relevant major.
3. Strong technical writing, editing ability, and an understanding of the proposal (RFQ and RFP) process. Graphics and layout design skill are a plus.
4. Software proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Adobe InDesign proficiency is a plus.
5. Highly organized and detail oriented.
6. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines.
7. Proactive and assertive in gathering information from project managers, architects, and consultants to ensure comprehensive proposal content.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Demonstrated initiative, follow-through, research, and problem-solving abilities.
