This is a home-based position in the Central/Eastern Region and should reside in Wake, Durham, Lee, Chatham, Orange, Alamance, Guilford, Johnston, Wayne, Harnett, Franklin, Moore, Cumberland, Nash, Wilson, or surrounding county.
As a Nurse Consultant in the Acute and Home Care Licensure and Certification Section, the main responsibility is to conduct licensure and/or certification onsite surveys or in office review of documentation to ascertain compliance with applicable State Licensure and/or Federal Certification Regulations for Acute Care Hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, Psychiatric Hospitals, Abortion Clinics, Cardiac Rehabilitation Centers, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, End Stage Renal Disease Providers, Rural Health Clinics, Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapists, and Rehabilitation Facility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies


Management Preferences:
  • Experience with State and Federal rules and regulations applicable to Acute Care facilities.
  • Experience with documentation standards, management, medical records, medical nursing, pharmacy, diagnostics, clinical nutrition, food service, lab services, patient rights, and social services programs sufficient for completing all of (or any part of) a licensure and/or certification survey.
  • RN licensed in North Carolina with experience in acute care hospitals, cardiac rehabilitation facilities, abortion clinics, dialysis centers, or ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Must know Windows and basic MS Office applications.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements


Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and one year of experience in the area of specialization.
