Job Title: Remote Inpatient Coder I/II (13-Week Contract)
Department: Health Information Management
Location: Remote (U.S.-Based Only)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13 Weeks

About the Role

We are seeking  six (6) experienced Inpatient Coders to join our team for a 13-week remote contract assignment. If you’re detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ready to make an immediate impact, we want to hear from you. You’ll be working on  high-dollar, complex inpatient cases using both  MS-DRG and APR-DRG groupers. Experience with  Expanse (Meditech)is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Code inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department (ED) records using  ICD-10-CM and CPT
• Abstract clinical data accurately into Meditech systems
• Achieve and maintain 95%+ accuracy in coding and abstracting
• Assign and sequence principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures
• Collaborate with case management on documentation needs
• Prepare queries for physicians as necessary to ensure coding specificity and compliance
• Maintain DNFC levels within facility standards

Qualifications

Coder I Requirements:

• AHIMA Certification:  CCS , or  RHIT + CCA
• 1+ year of coding experience in an acute care hospital setting

Coder II Requirements:

• AHIMA Certification:  CCS required
• 2+ years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting

Preferred Experience:

• Experience using  Expanse (Meditech)
• Familiarity with  high-dollar and mortality-based inpatient cases
• Solid understanding of  DRG coding and best abstracting practices

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour
