The Plant Controller will oversee all financial operations within the manufacturing facility, ensuring accuracy in reporting, cost control, and compliance. This role is pivotal in supporting strategic decision-making and driving operational efficiency across departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Cost Accounting & Variance Analysis
    • Work in Process (WIP):
      • Monitor and reconcile WIP inventory across departments
      • Ensure accurate valuation and timely movement of WIP to finished goods
      • Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to align WIP tracking with demand schedules
    • Overhead Variance:
      • Develop and maintain overhead allocation models
      • Analyze fixed and variable overhead variances monthly
      • Collaborate with operations and production teams to analyze variances and improve cost performance
      • Present findings to leadership and recommend cost-saving initiative
    • Direct Labor Variance:
      • Track labor efficiency and rate variances.
      • Partner with HR and operations to align labor standards with actuals
      • Support workforce planning and productivity improvement efforts
      • Collaborate with operations and production teams to analyze variances and improve cost performance
      • Present findings to leadership and recommend cost-saving initiatives
  • Financial Reporting & Controls
    • Lead month-end close and ensure accurate reporting of plant financials
    • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP
    • Prepare and present margin analysis, including volume, price, mix, and cost drivers
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts for plant operations
    • Support capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis
    • Assist in setting overhead and labor standards for budgeting purposes
  • Miscellaneous
    • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP
    • Support budgeting and forecasting activities for the plant
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership
    • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve product, process, and service quality

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing finance or plant controlling
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting and ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
