Job Description

Engineering Project Coordinator

The Engineering Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in providing project administration support across all Lines of Business. This position demands a high degree of personal integrity and requires a collaborative team player. The coordinator is responsible for preparing proposals, pursuing work opportunities, managing change requests, and overseeing the performance of the project portfolio. The role involves liaising with supervisors, managers, client representatives, and the operations team to ensure efficient project management.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with client, supervisors, managers, and engineering project coordinators for work intake, including development of project scopes, budget preparation, and responding to RFPs.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to determine project resource assignments and establish budgets.
  • Prepare project estimates in alignment with workload, tasks, resource types, and estimating assumptions, and maintain estimating tools accordingly.
  • Oversee project portfolio and manage scope and change, tracking changes initiated by internal teams or the client.
  • Communicate budget, schedule, and resource assignment changes to relevant teams.
  • Analyze key performance indicators and metrics such as CPI, SPI, and deliverable milestones, providing recommendations and resolving portfolio management issues.
  • Identify and resolve timecard discrepancies and adjustments with the Engineering Project Cost Analyst/Employee Support Associate.
  • Coordinate and resolve project costing issues.
  • Administer and recommend changes to project portfolio management processes for continuous improvement.
  • Share best practices across different office locations.
  • Provide feedback to direct manager for evidence-based decision making.
  • Perform any other tasks based on business needs.

  • At least five years of experience in project coordination or project management support functions
  • Experience in managing portfolio of projects and resources
  • Thorough understanding of PMBOK project phases: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control, and Project Closeout

Work Environment:

The position requires in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the remainder of the time being remote.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
