Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Emergency Medicine Location: Spearfish, South Dakota Position Type: Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Experience: 1+ year of clinical or emergency medicine experience preferred Position Overview•Seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a dynamic Emergency Medicine team in Spearfish, SD•Work under the supervision of an Emergency Medicine physician while providing high-quality, patient-centered care•Responsible for managing acute and complex patients in the emergency department in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members•Must demonstrate sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to respond effectively in fast-paced situations Essential Functions•Predominantly Emergency Medicine practice (spending 20% or less time in non-emergency settings)•Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of emergent and urgent care conditions•Perform and assist with procedures within the APP scope of practice and department protocols•Apply clinical interventions, evaluate outcomes, and adjust plans of care as needed•Order and interpret diagnostic tests in collaboration with supervising physicians•Provide timely, thorough, and accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies•Coordinate care and make appropriate referrals or transfers based on patient condition•Respond effectively to emergencies, basing management decisions on individual patient needs•No operating room, inpatient, or ED/unassigned call requirements Qualifications•Required (South Dakota):oCertified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) - South Dakota Board of Nursingoor Physician Assistant (PA) - South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners•Preferred:o1+ year of clinical or emergency medicine experienceoStrong assessment and procedural skillsoExcellent communication and teamwork abilities Physical Requirements•Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly to move objects Why Join This Opportunity•Work in a collaborative and supportive emergency care environment•Participate in a fast-paced, high-acuity practice serving a diverse patient population•Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with no on-call or operating room duties•Live in Spearfish, South Dakota, a vibrant community in the Black Hills region, offering:oScenic outdoor recreation year-round - hiking, biking, skiing, and fishingoFamily-friendly living, cultural activities, and a welcoming small-town atmosphere
