Job Description

The Digital Asset Manager is responsible for organizing, managing, and maintaining all digital assets—primarily product photography, video, and brand visuals—across internal and external platforms. This role ensures that all teams have easy, secure, and efficient access to the latest approved assets for use in marketing, e-commerce, and sales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Organization & Management

  • Own the digital asset management system (DAM), server, or cloud-based platform used to house product images and videos.
  • Organize files using standardized taxonomy, tagging, metadata, and version control.
  • Implement consistent file naming conventions and folder structures.
  • Ensure assets are properly categorized by product line, season, usage rights, and format.

Workflow & Process Optimization

  • Develop and maintain workflows for uploading, tagging, archiving, and retrieving digital content.
  • Collaborate with creative, e-commerce, and product teams to gather and distribute assets efficiently.
  • Serve as the gatekeeper for digital content—ensuring only approved, high-quality files are accessible for use.

Collaboration & Distribution

  • Provide internal teams (marketing, sales, social, retailers, PR) with correct file versions in proper formats.
  • Distribute assets to retail partners, media, or marketplaces with appropriate licensing and specs.
  • Act as a point of contact for all asset requests and troubleshooting.

Governance & Quality Control

  • Maintain compliance with usage rights, licensing, embargo dates, and image expiration.
  • Audit existing libraries for outdated, duplicate, or unapproved files.
  • Back up all digital content and ensure disaster recovery measures are in place.

Technology & Tools

  • Manage DAM tools (e.g., Bynder, Brandfolder, Canto, Adobe Bridge, Google Drive).
  • Optimize integration between DAM and tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Shopify, or internal CMS.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in digital asset management, content operations, or similar roles.
  • Familiarity with merchandise, retail, or consumer products is a strong plus.
  • Proficient in DAM systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and file compression/export standards.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage large volumes of assets.
  • Comfortable collaborating across departments with varying technical needs.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) or PIM systems.
  • Basic photo editing or retouching skills.
  • Understanding of licensing and intellectual property management.
