About the Role
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for advancing the organization's mission through visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational excellence. This role entails translating long-term vision into actionable strategies that produce measurable impact across community development, housing, economic mobility, and place-based initiatives. Acting as the primary ambassador, the CEO will elevate the organization’s visibility, foster key partnerships, and ensure financial sustainability. The CEO will lead a diverse and mission-driven team, cultivate a culture of equity and inclusion, and engage with stakeholders to promote collaborative solutions to community challenges. Core responsibilities include overseeing fundraising and resource development, shaping policy advocacy, ensuring compliance and financial stewardship, and representing the organization to the public, funders, and policymakers. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors to align strategy with governance and long-term priorities. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree in nonprofit management, urban planning, business, or a related field strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years' leadership experience in complex nonprofit, public sector, or mission-driven organizations is required, including demonstrated success in a CEO or senior executive role. Ideal candidates will have deep expertise in community development, affordable housing, economic mobility, or health equity, along with a proven ability to lead strategic planning, secure funding, and build lasting partnerships. Experience managing operating budgets of $5 million or more and a strong understanding of financial oversight is essential. Superior communication, relationship-building, and people leadership skills are critical. Familiarity with the Tampa Bay region and an established reputation as a collaborative, community-centered leader are highly desirable.
