Job Description
Job Summary The position performs a variety of Braille translation and transcription functions and activities and provides classroom based reinforcement of disability specific skills required for students with visual impairments. There are specific certifications required to obtain the different levels in this classification that are detailed below.
TCDE pays up to $21,048 per year towards Health & Welfare benefits.

Following initial screening, applicants will be informed regarding the necessity of an interview. As a condition of employment the successful candidate will be required to be fingerprinted (at department expense), sign a loyalty oath, produce evidence of a negative tuberculosis test (at candidate's expense), provide documentation of eligibility to be employed in the United States, and provide proof of eligibility to obtain and hold appropriate Child Development permit as of the first day of employment.

NOTE to TCDE employees:
Employees that apply for a promotional opportunity will typically be placed on step one of the new higher classification. If step one is lower than their current salary, they will be placed at a step that provides for at least a 5% increase. If they have previous experience in a same higher classification they will be placed commensurate with that verified experience (lower classification experience does not apply to higher classifications)
Tehama County Department of Education is located in Red Bluff, CA which is approximately 2 hours north of Sacramento.
