Job Summary

Schneller has an opening for an experienced automotive technician whose capabilities should include various aspects of vehicle diagnostics and repair including:

• Mechanical
• Electrical
• HVAC
• Proficiency using diagnostic scan tools 
• Coding & Programming
• Fabrication experience
• MIG welding
• Vehicle alignments and chassis set up 

As we operate within a specialty automotive niche, BMW and MINI experience is desired. 
Demonstration of transferable foreign automotive skills will also be considered.

Responsibilities 

• Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, all wheel drive, chassis, suspension, tires and brakes
• Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunctions and recommend repairs
• Interface with our technical & software support service as necessary to accurately diagnose & repair vehicles
• Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, belts, brake, shock & tire services, AC service and drivetrain fluids
• Use your mechanical skill to tackle more complicated repairs.
• Convey necessary vehicle repair information and recommendations to the service writer in a timely, clear and concise manner
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business by diagnosing and fixing the car right the first time 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required
• An associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is desired
• Experience may be substituted for education & training
• Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is a plus
• Strong customer service and communications skills are required
• Personal tools sufficient to perform the job are essential
