About the Role
We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to help lead the front-of-house team at Alpino, a European-inspired neighborhood restaurant in Detroit’s historic Corktown. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives on creating memorable guest experiences and developing strong, motivated teams.

As AGM, you’ll work closely with our Service + Events Manager and ownership team to guide daily operations, uphold our service standards, and bring warmth, precision, and energy to every shift. You’ll be a visible leader on the floor — greeting guests, coaching staff, and making sure our service feels genuine, thoughtful, and consistent.

What You’ll Do:  Lead the Guest Experience

Create a welcoming, thoughtful atmosphere that feels both polished and approachable.
Greet guests warmly, oversee the flow of service, and ensure every detail contributes to an exceptional experience.

Handle guest concerns with empathy and professionalism, always aiming for genuine hospitality and recovery.
Support and Develop the Team

Coach, train, and mentor FOH staff, ensuring each person understands our service philosophy.
Lead pre-shift meetings, share updates, and set a positive tone for every service.

Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, and performance conversations that focus on growth and accountability.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure smooth opening and closing routines, proper cash handling, and accurate inventory practices.
• Identify operational needs and collaborate with leadership on solutions that improve consistency and efficiency.
• Contribute to Growth and Performance
• Support ownership with budgeting, cost control, and sales initiatives.
• Encourage team participation in service and sales goals that drive revenue and engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and labor regulations.

• A leader with strong fine-dining or elevated casual experience (ideally from a 1–3 star or Michelin-quality program).
• Someone who leads with empathy, curiosity, and accountability.
